Students of the Boothbay Region were treated to a special guest speaker on November 3, 2016. Senator Angus King stopped by Porter Memorial Gymnasium to talk to students about his duties in Washington D.C. As an independent lawmaker, King spoke about the importance of civil discourse while supporting bipartisan politics. The senator, (who bears a striking resemblance to Maine's Civil War General Joshua Chamberlain,) also encouraged students to pursue their dreams, and oh, yeah, did we mention he's also a fan of hip hop?
